Welcome to the Truro Police Department website. Our department has an
exceptional staff, consisting of 18 diverse sworn and non-sworn men and
women who reflect the Truro's community.
Whether answering citizens' phone calls, participating in community events
or completing duties in the field, we are committed to working in
partnership with members of the community. It is my hope we start a new
trend - a Community Involved Policing philosophy based on providing
quality
service, engaging the community, and problem solving.
On a routine basis, we expect our officers to spend as much time as
possible
out of their cars getting to know residents and business owners. Expect to
see us at the school, recreation centers, senior centers, and Town Hall on
our patrols to strengthen relationships and to cooperatively build a safer
community. Whenever possible, our officers would be happy to participate
in
community projects as they are planned.
Developing and maintaining contact with Neighborhood groups, associations
and community-based organizations is crucial to communication and crime
prevention initiatives as well. This includes working to insure families
and young people know our officers and are engaged in and referred to
positive activities.
It is truly an honor and a privilege to represent the men and women of the
Truro Police Department.
